The Armor of God
The Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10–18) is a symbolic picture of the spiritual tools that protect and strengthen us in life’s struggles. It’s not about violence or war, but about standing firm in truth, hope, and love.
Shoes of Peace – Grounding us in stability and readiness to walk in a spirit of reconciliation. This section provides a checklist of things to remember before “going into battle” to help you remember to keep the peace when engaged in discussions about Universalism and God’s unconditional love.
Sword of the Spirit – cutting through lies with divine wisdom and the living word. This section houses logical arguments against the concept of hell, replete with scriptural support.
Shield of Faith – extinguishing fear and despair with trust in what is unseen. This section provides defenses in response to attacks you may receive from believers who adamantly assert eternal conscious torture using Scripture. It includes rebuttals to every reference Jesus made to hell in the Gospel.
Helmet of Salvation – protecting the mind with assurance, identity, and hope. This section contains proverbs and sayings, best practices, and examples of how we can grow to be more loving so that we more accurately represent the change we want to see in the world.
Belt of Truth – holding everything together with honesty and alignment to reality. This section will contain This section contains the Canon, Code, and Creed of Love Saves, and includes various Axioms, Idioms, Maxims, and other One-Liners of Wisdom you can use in your discussions about Christian Universalism.
Prayer binds it all together, keeping us connected to God and centered in love.
For me, this isn’t a call to battle against people, but a metaphor for how we resist common behavioral and emotional themes of chaos, ego, and despair. Love clothes us like armor — each piece reminding us how to endure, how to create meaning, and how to walk forward without fear.
